BECOME A CRIME STOPPERS VOLUNTEER 

Crime Stoppers is seeking volunteers to the Board of Directors who live or work in the Hamilton region to volunteer their time in the fight against crime and to help make our community a safer place to live, work and be proud of.
The Boards’ responsibility is to promote the program through public awareness and understanding the role that Crime Stoppers have in reducing crime. This provides the basis for raising funds through donations and encouraging attendance at fund raising events. The board is also responsible for developing policies and approving rewards to tipsters.

Crime Stoppers of Hamilton are looking for diverse volunteers with the following backgrounds:
Media
Marketing
Grant Writing
Fundraising

This is a working board, participating in fundraising events and assisting in creating awareness by attending various community functions. To support our ongoing costs and be able to provide services, funds need to be raised through donations or fundraising efforts. These are some of the requirements in order to be considered as a Crime Stoppers board member.

Volunteer Board of Directors, 2010

Crime Stoppers consists of a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of members of the community. It is their job to administer and operate the program and to raise reward monies from the private sector. The funds are not tax dollar, but instead monies donated by business, service clubs and concerned charitable citizens. Since the program is incorporated as a charitable organization, all donations are tax exempt.
